M-14 FA parts, Legal or not?

I have some USGI full auto parts, no sears or anything to make FA. Are these legal to own/possess/sell?
These were purchased by me 25 plus years ago and I've read both that they're illegal and not illegal.

You can't make a semi-auto M14 clone into full auto no matter how hard you try. So I'd say it's not illegal to have those in your possession.
Then again, I'm not an attorney.


And wait a few minutes for some wise guy to come on and tell is how easy they are to convert.....
It's coming.
