So I picked up my new 15-22 and walked into the house with it. The little lady was their waiting for me. NOW what did you buy, she asked. Hmmm, I thought, this could get ugly.

OK, let's see it she said calmly. Me, like a kid on Christmas morning I opened the box to show her. After making sure it was unloaded I handed it to her. Her reaction was, lightweight it almost feels like a toy, she said. I said it's a .22 not as heavy the AR15's I have. A .22, she asked? A smile came across her face and she said very nice. OK, give it back now, I said. Hey, I like this, maybe I should get one for myself (she does have a LTC) as she continued to fondle it.

I didn't tell her how much it cost however.

This could be trouble!

Nothing wrong with that!

My 10/22 is my Wife's favorite gun to shoot and she shoots it well too.

You got a keeper Mike!

I'm taking the wife to the range for the first time this weekend. She has never shot even a BB gun. I'm planning on just handing her my 9mm and telling her to "have at it". Of course I plan on holding my arm over her's for the first round (a black eye on her won't look good when I see the in laws on Sunday).

Once she's gotten comfortable with the 9mm, I feel a move in either direction (larger or smaller) won't be dramatic to a non-shooter.
