Hi Everyone I'm new to the firearm lifestyle and don't really know who to ask questions to so if you could please help me out with the following I'd really appreciate it and thanks in advance.
1. Looking to purchase a M&P 40c but would like to get the trigger worked on, I don't like how stiff it is out of the box. It feels more like 15lbs than 10lbs! I live north of Boston and was wondering if anyone had any refferals to a gunsmith in the area I'm not comfortable with shipping it somewhere and having a hard time getting it back with MA being such a hardass.
2. I also heard that if I have work done to modify my ccw and have to someday use it someday (which I hope not to) I will get painted as being a menace by some lawyer.
3. Does S&W offer the M&P with a lesser lb trigger pull but with a safety so it's MA compliant?

You can improve the trigger by installing a "Free State" trigger return spring for $2.75.

For my $$, the apex AEK plus RAM were the best investments for the M&P.

The trigger is spectacular now.

And it took me all of 10 Minutes in a hotel with simple tools to install it. Its that easy.

How easy?

I'm a general contractor = have access to all types of tools, follow directions/mechanically inclined etc. Where would I find out how to do this? PS it's my first gun but have a good understanding.
Thanks

I agree with HTRN. The APEX DCAEK gives one of the best trigger feels i've seen for an M&P. It is pretty easy to install, if you go to youtube you can see the guys at APEX tactical do it as an instructional. It's not that hard, the only thing I had trouble with was drifting out the rear sight as mine was pretty well used so some gunk made it tight.

only tools you really need are a small and a large drift punch, some masking tape, a small set of tweasers and a hex screwdriver (I think 3/32" but cant remember off top of my head. A vice makes the process easier, but not necessary.
