So, if I put ten rounds in the magazine, rack one in, then take the magazine out and put in one more round, the magazine will not fir back in. Any other gun I own it is possible to do this, is this a MA feature? All of my other guns pre-date the 10 round thing, so this could be something I just haven't run into yet...
Am I an idiot or what is going on here?

Push harder. The mags go in tight when the slide is closed and you have 10 rounds loaded. The top round pushes up against the bottom of the slide, so you're pushing against the magazine spring.

Weird. You are correct of course, I gave it a good slap an in it went. thanks. I figured I was being a dumb#$@ one way or another. [smile]

Another thing is leave the mags fully loaded for awhile, the springs will take that initial set and make life easier... that's the way it is with glock mags, at least.

I will do that. I actually had trouble getting the first round in, and the last round. It seems with these that the tail end has to go in and down first. I'm used to my Sigs which are much older.

I do like the M&P though, have take it back to the range now that the glue has cured on the front site.

Just a tip, try to get in the habit of giving the mag a tug after you've loaded it. I've seen a lot of mags fall right out of the mag well after the first shot because they were jammed up in there, but hadn't locked in. Funny if you're at the range - not so funny if you're defending yourself.
