Looks like Bud's Gun Shop was leaked a non-photoshop picture.

This idea has the potential to make me really happy, but I suspect it will be yet another zinc P22 clone. [frown]

EDIT: Now up on: The Firearm Blog

That link to The Firearm Blog lists it as single action. For what is presumably a striker-fired pistol, I find that somewhat suspect.

It was rumored for years now on M&P Forum.

I'd love to see this happen for real, assuming that the quality of workmanship approaches that of a AA conversion kit!

They should have made an upper instead

This. Many people who would want one for practice will have non-factory sears and springs in their receivers.

That's also why I'm wondering if we'll find out that the internals don't resemble the M&P.

They should have had AA build that upper for them and logo it as S&W!!

Excellent point. However a lot of the gunsmithing work to make the M&P usable are performed on the upper (e.g. the safety plunger).

I hope they're the same size as the 9/40 and they make one without the stupid thumb safety.

I'll agree with the chorus who would've preferred an upper. I'd like a 5" version also.
