Anyone here changed out the front sights on an M&P? My white dot has a hard time staying white - I'm thinking of a fiber optic replacement - not HiViz - this is a do-all pistol, CCW, practice, competitions when I enter them

Thanks

I had Greg Derr replace my M&P front sight with a Dawson FO when he did the trigger job for me. Works great.

I should have mentioned Greg Derr did my sights. I went with the Novak rear sight which is black, no dots works for me with the FO front.

To those who swapped out just the front - did the new sight change the regulation of the sights?

The trick is to measure the height of your front sight and then buy one of the same dimension, unless you want to change the point of impact. Taller sight will shoot lower while a shorter sight will shoot higher.

Good post Gammon, My rear sight was higher so the front sight ended up being .265. 4 clicks up on the rear and it hits dead on.

That's why I had Greg Derr do it. He matched the height to the original so that POI is the same.

Yes I understand the relationship of the front sight & poi

From what I can glean from various tech pages the OEM front post is .160h x .140w.

I'm also thinking of swapping out the rear to one without dots - something along the lines of the 10-8 OEM replacement
