M&P Question.

So I have read somewhere about the S&W M&P 40 that you can swap out the barrel and magazine to shoot 9mm. I was wondering if this would also apply to the .45. So if I got a M&P 45 could I replace the barrel and shoot 9mm through the gun or will this not work. I would imagine no, since the size difference but figured it was worth a try to ask to take into consideration on my next purchase.

(of course I cant find where I saw it at this time, go figure)

That won't work the mp45 because of the ejector. Its just set for too large a diameter shell to accomodate 9 mm. I think it could happen with a full change of barrel and slide.

I don't believe that is correct. Believe the .45 frame is different than the 9/.40 frame.

The 45 has a different Frame/Slide/Striker/TriggerBar. It won't work. Everything between the 9/40's is interchangeable though. You can take a 9mm 4.25" and toss on a 5" .40 slide and pop in a .40 magazine and it will run just as reliably as it did in 9mm.
