I just picked up an M&P 45 full size and I was wondering how I would go about getting the trigger pull reduced from the MA compliant 10 down to the normal 6.5.

I'm also interested in picking up some night sites for it and was looking for recommendations.

Thanks,
Mike

All three are excellent gunsmiths.

I'm still using stock sights but I did install the APEX trigger kit. Its easy to do and makes that trigger usable.

can I do this myself?

It sounds like the Apex may be the way to go...Is this something that I can easily do myself?

Thanks for all of the replies and recommendations for good smiths and aftermarket sites.

I replaced the sear (9c) only at first and got my pull down to 7 1/4lbs. I then put a free state trigger return spring in and my pull is 5lbs. The sear was easy to change. I found the trigger return spring more of a challenge. I also installed xs big dot night sights myself. It was easy except for filing down the sights dovetail.

I'm looking at the apex site, but its not entirely clear to me what exactly you need to just decrease the trigger pull.

What exactly did you buy/install?

As others have mentioned you want the kit. I got the carry kit as the competition kit lowers the trigger pull so low that I wouldn't personally feel comfortable carrying it.

I replaced the sear, striker block, sear spring, and trigger return spring. The job itself is pretty easy to do. Follow the directions in the YouTube videos that Apex puts out, have the right tools on hand and you'll be fine.
