Hi Guys kinda new as a shooter and new to the forum. I work aboard ships which are contracted to the US Military and as such are issued weapons by them for our use even though we are civilains. We currenly carry mossberg shot guns m-14s and the M9 pistol. I've shot beretta 92s and the m9 as part of my training. the one thing I've noticed is that the sights are differnt on the m9's that we have on the ship and the 92. The M9 has a two dot sight the front sight has a dot and the rear sight has a single dot below the aperature where the 92 has 3 dots one on the front and one on each blade of the rear. I was looking at the differnt pistols on berettas website and see that they make a 92 and an m9. but i can't find the commercial m9 anywhere or the just the sights. I want to practice as accurate as possible can anyone help me out with finding an m9 with the two dot or how to change the sights
thanks
jeff

Uncle Sam usually doesn't like to spring for Trijicons in the main aresenal...

The main issue with the 92F is that the front sight is actually part of the slide itself and is thus permanantly affixed, and installing such sights requires drilling. Manufacturers like Trijicon usually have you send them in to their factory, but IME, military armorers usually frown upon such heavy duty weapon mods. As a result, when I was in the sandbox, my unit actually bought Crimison Trace laser grips as they were much less of an intrusive modification (albiet much, much more expensive) that could be performed by any soldier with a flat head screw driver.

I suppose you could always buy your own 92F with the sighst and take the slide with you, though I don't know how kosher that is relative to the health of the firearm.

Obsessing about the exact number of dots on your sights is not going to make you a better shooter.

Master the fundamentals then the single vs two dot rear sight becomes a non-issue.
