Ma AR-15 Upper

Hey guys, new to the forum and new to AR-15s. I was wondering if i were to purchase the upper in the link and replace the front sight for a gas block and add a muzzle brake(and weld it?) would it be considered Mass compliant? Thanks for any input.

You could grind the bayo lug, and replace the flash hider with a welded brake and be all set.

Agreed, grind the bayo lug and pin the muzzle brake. You'd have to "dimple" the barrel to put a gas block on that barrel as the barrel is already pinned for that particular A2 sight tower.... However it WOULD work as you described, you'd just be drilling the barrel in addition to the pin holes already in the barrel for the A2 sight tower that is on there...

I guess I could just buy the same upper only with the 12" rail and no front sight.......although I prefer a shorter rail.
