MA Remington 870 dealer recommendation

I am in the market for an 870 Marine Magnum XCS or a regular 870 MM (used). I am new to this, but I have visited a few shops nearby (I live in Reading). It appears some shops have certain specialties (FS with S&W, ZHA with black rifles etc). Is there a MA shop that specializes in higher end 870's?

I'm sure most can order it for you. I know Dicks has a catalog you can look through and then they will order it for ya.

The last couple of Dicks stores I went into had 870 Marines on the rack.

That model screams out for an aftermarket Knoxx Spec-Ops adjustable stock.

Since it is a long arm you can also come up to NH to buy it, just fill out a FA-10 when you get it home. You could also try KTP but call first to see if they carry them, Ditto for Rileys in Hookset NH.

Just got a card from KTP telling me the 18.5 inch bbl I ordered 6 months ago came in... stuff is on short supply

Thanks for the info. One follow up. I am looking to use this for Home Defense and SHTF. Would you go with the classic nickle plated or the new XCS version?

There's no functional difference between them... either one does the same thing.

Just came back from Dicks in Danvers. Its not carried in stock and they don't do special orders (corporate). They did carry the Mossberg Mariner but no Marine Magnum.

Four Seasons ordered me a 870P a couple of years ago. It was the first gun I bought through them. My "regular" shop at the time wouldn't order it due to it being a "police" model (it was a 870 with walnut hardware and bead sight) so I went online and found out that Rem's distribution splits its normal line from its LE line. My shop's distributor was not a distributor for both lines, after some searching online I found that Four Seasons was.
Pick a model you like and call FS for a price, they should be able to order it for you unless things have changed since then.
