This actually belongs in the state law thread of the state you are looking to store them in.

We’ve seen this before where MA residents believe they’re subject to MA law when they are not in MA, and/or their property is not in MA. And it’s very sad, but the fact of the matter is that MA law does not apply to MA residents with regard to activities that they conduct in another state. Check the state law of the state that you are looking to possess, keep, let borrow, transfer, etc. firearms in.
