This past weekend (22/23 August) Rick Sten ran the Massachusetts State Pistol Championship for Conventional Pistol ("Bullseye" or "Precision" pistol). A huge shout out for a great match, run by friendly people, in a really welcoming environment. The same course of fire was shot on both days (.22, Centerfire, and .45, 90 shots each at 50 and 25 yards), plus an Excellence in Competition match for .22 and Service Pistol, PLUS distinguished revolver. Both days hosted quite a few shooters with that "new car smell"...and Angle Tree made them feel as welcome as the hard holders, with demos on how each stage of the match was run. I think the average demographic is a late 50's guy, but there were about 10% women there as well (it really helps when your wife is a shooter too!). Would love to see more (any?) juniors, but I think the run-n-gun has them hooked.

Just wanted to say thank you to the crew (line callers, safety officers, stats, etc) for having the intestinal fortitude to execute a well run match safely in today's environment.

It WAS held at Angle Tree R&G
