MAC 10 .45 problems. Any help in Western MA?

My full auto MAC 10 .45 Sub machine gun is acting up. First it was firing in semi from time to time in FA mode. So I ordered a whole new fire control group for it and installed it. Now the disconector spring is slipping off the disconector and getting caught in between the sear and the trip. I have even tried putting the old parts back in and mixing and matching but the same thing happens. I am about at the end of my rope.

Is there anyone in the Western MA area that knows FA MAC 10 guns well that can help me out? I really dont want to have to ship this thing out as shipping NFA is a pain in the butt and I have tried trouble shooting it with Cobray and it just does not work over the phone. I need someone that knows the FA macs better than me to look at it and tell me what is going on.

Zero Hour Arms can help you, but they are in E. Mass. Finding a class 3 gunsmith in your area might be a challenge. Call them and ask for Marc or Vito or send them a pm on the board.

you may call auto sports distributors in agawam 413 766 7586 I have no idea if they can help but they are about the only class 3 dealer out here.

Too bad that you are so far away. My Cobray MAC 10 (knock on wood) has run like a champ for 18 years now. If you were closer, we could run a side by side comparison. There is a rollpin in the bolt which holds the extractor in. If that works out a little, it can drag on the inside of the frame and cause problems. What are you using for ammo, and how much mileage on the gun? Jack.

Forgot to mention, when the recoil buffer in my MAC 45 went south, I replaced it with one from Buffer Technologies. They modified a Thompson buffer for me and it works fine. Just a thought. Jack.

Tried him and no luck. He said he knows nothing about the MACs nor could he help me....

Hey "oneeyedjack" where are you located? I am at the point now where I will drive wherever to get this thing working again.
