Does anyone know if there are any kits available for 700 VTRs in .308 that can allow them to take magazines?
I see Magpul will be coming out with some thing this year but it's only with proprietary 5rd mags.
I'd like to, if possible, to get 10 or 20 magazines to work.
I look forward to your input.

Check out the Archangel aa700b stock. I got one for my .308 700. It takes 10 round mags that are readily available. You want the b with the aluminum bedding block, not the a. I got mine on ebay. Got extra mags there too.

I bought one of these.... the whole tamale and love it. Checking out the website I see they have added several chassis options. The workmanship is second to none.. XLR Industries.. I loved that I didn't have to bed it, came with a magazine, had accessory rails we could install as needed, several stock and grip options or just use your old AR15 stocks and grips...

Maybe more than you are looking for, doesn't hurt to look. I purchased mine after looking for mag options and stock upgrades.. this was exactly what I wanted and more.

$325 vs $750+

Shit, I just wanted to mod it, not buy a new rifle lol
These are quite a bit more than I was expecting.
The first couple of options listed are more towards what I was expecting. I'm gonna keep looking and hope that they might have a variant that can take AR-10 mags. Thats a bit more ideal to me. Dropping $80 on a mag is insane.

hehehe,,,... there's options out there, depending on what you want and can afford. That Archangel does look like a smoking deal... I happen to like the aluminum frame with the tactical options available.. I know there were magazine kits available when I was looking but that was using the AI mags.. never heard of any AR-10 mag kits..

I've actually been keeping an eye on these for a while, and they pique my interest every time I see them in a Brownells or Midway catalog. I just can't justify the $250-300 price tag I keep seeing on them.

I'd be looking for one on a .308 SA.

10 round MA mag. Both are less than $30.00.

I am sure that the xlr is worth the price and is better than the AA700b but I only spent $300.00 on the rifle back in the day and could barely justify spending $325 on the aa700b...

Do you have any first hand experience with this one? I popcorn'd this thread so I could find a removable mag bottom metal for my ghetto benchrest gun, this looks like a strong candidate.

Sorry no personal experience with it. I intend to rectify that in the short term. Worst case I'll just send it to Ben to be tweaked until it works [laugh] I love cross compatibility with mags. I'll be putting it on my .223 Varmint model. I also plan on having the barrel cut back to 20 in. and threaded.
