Does anyone know the status of the Magpul UBR stock???

http://www.magpul.com/catalog/index...id=187&zenid=605f4c274ca651d51a017beace194852

I know an initial offering was released a while back, but that supply seems to have dried up. Now it's listed on dozens of websites, but it's either shown as out of stock or unavailable. I've tried to order from a couple of companies whose website show it as being in stock, but I've gotten reply emails saying it's backordered or not available.

How do you get a hold of one of these???

Also, another thought - is this stock post ban compliant? I'm planning on putting it on a preban rifle, so it doesn't matter to me. However, IIRC, the ban lists "telescoping or folding" stocks. This stock doesn't seem to telescope, it merely adjusts in and out, not unlike (although far more dramatically than) the Magpul PRS stock.

Any thoughts?

I seem to remember reading on ARF.com in the magpul section that they are trying to ramp up production of these stocks.
I'm not sure about the post-ban status.

It does look like a pretty bad-ass stock. They say they are quite heavy and good for balancing a heavy barreled rifle.

The AWB says:
`(i) a folding or telescoping stock;

Please note, it does NOT say "collapsible stock". It specifically lists a telescoping stock. As you know, the act of telescoping is when a smaller tube slides inside a larger tube:

consisting of parts that slide one within another like the tubes of a jointed telescope and are thus capable of being extended or shortened.

Although the UBR doesn't appear to telescope in the traditional sense of two parts fully sliding into each other topologically, it still looks like the sliding portion contains at least 50% of the buffer tube and appears to slide in such a way that it contains the buffer tube.

Its hard to really say without having one in front of me (I'm just looking at YouTube), but as far as I can tell, it seems like it is too close to fully telescoping to use.

You can always pin it though, right? I know that would make it less than useful, but at least it would look cool.
