Marine Corps 242nd Birthday!

Yes I was, Platoon 169 July-October 1974

Sounds like you just missed the party. I was in the first platoon on P.I. in 1968. Platoon 100. The party had just begun and was going strong. That is to say, the TET offensive had just started.

Happy Birthday to the last "service" not yet wearing panties**. May it continue forever. Much respect for the USMC!

**Although.........recent relaxing changes are a bit ominous!

My buddy Walt, a 2.5 tour Viet Marine passed this year. I bought a flag case for his burial flag and his wife displays it proudly. I was there a few days ago and asked about his USMC flag as I did not see it there. She said she gave it to his daughter.

I immediately went to smile Amazon, bought a case and a 5x8 USMC flag to be delivered either today or tomorrow and I will personally fold it as described below. Semper Fi to all the good guys!
