Marlborough Gun show this month

Guys don't like to admit it but they are just as bad. There is truth in the saying "AR-15 – Barbie Doll For Guys".

Too funny!

I am of the same opinion, whatever works. I told my wife I'd buy her anything she wanted, any color she wanted, and bedazzle it if needed. She fell in love with an M&P full size in plain black. First time she took it out she went through 300 rounds, had to start reloading to keep up.

That's a lot of rounds! Must've been love [grin].

Anybody get sick the day after the show?? I went Saturday afternoon and have been sick ever since!! Body aches, chills and all stuffed up....I left my house healthy and came home sick... I'm guessing I got it from someone there..

Unless you contracted super ebola flu, you had it in you already and symptoms progressed.

Started for me this morning. Same symptoms.

I didn't even see those. But I admit, I didn't spend too long wandering around after I had my earplugs molded. It was kind of busy though too, and I was speed-walking so I could escape the neanderthals. I was concerned I'd be dragged into a cave and clubbed if I hung around too long, or made eye contact with anyone.

Wow. Were the guys at the gun show really that bad that you had to be concerned?

Pretty much made it impossible for my wife to look at merchandise without an armed escort.

It was pretty bad; perhaps somebody should consider some hot models and hand towels at their table next time.

Lol! Not quite the kidnapping-and-clubbing level.....but the overwhelming majority certainly made me feel the desire to suggest a shower and a hair brush. A haircut would've been better, but given the state of many of them, I suspect that would've been too much of a shock. I do wonder about men who stare at a woman like they've never seen one before, though. They really need to get out more.

I did see a handful of guys who looked clean and respectable, though. So it definitely can be done - even for a gun show!

Yup, if that wasn't the case, people wouldn't be making stuff like "Burnt Bronze" finishes, etc. Hell half the guys I saw buying magpul stuff weren't addressing functional issues, they just wanted their gun to "look different" from whatever it currently was.

You're absolutely right, there's a huge market for the gimmicky stuff - girls love it. So I'm not surprised it's taken off so well. Whatever works and gets women motivated is definitely good. But I'll probably just stick to the regular versions. [wink]

I'm not sure what you mean by gimmicky stuff but women have a much more refund sense if style than men. My wife wants all her firearms to look good. It isn about caliber or stopping power. It is about a really nice looking gun. That's why we have weatherby, browning, Baretta, etc.

I didn't know that my former co-worker did gun shows! And yes he was and is a Neanderthal!

rookie mistake.
Looking for a cheap laser sight for training. This oriental guy (I am not racists, just the description of the vendor, for others in the show) shows me a sight, says it is $59. I said, o.k, I will come back later. So a while later I go back and say o.k. He say's it is $95. I say $59. He says o.k. I buy it, bring it home, it is DOA. So I go to amazon prime, it sells foe $39 !
I called SightMark, They very nice, they said they'll replace it for me.

Oh well, you live and learn !

Chinese optics guy (this has a double meaning, ROR) will replace anything no problem, if you see him at the next show. That said, the guy probably still makes out on the deal, because I would bet most people just smash those things with a hammer or throw them in a junk box. I think I have two or three scopes like this in my basement. Somewhere. Cheap optics are nearly always JUNK.

The camo was strong at this show - unwashed camo. Some guys looked like they lived in some of those caves. Filthy clothes and torn jackets.

I will have you know I took a shower just last month for Christmas. Due for a haircut come spring, too.

Sent from my chimney using smoke signals.

Any way of finding out how much volume the dealers there sold. I'd be curious to see if they did well with their inflated prices. There were a lot of full racks Sunday afternoon.

I know the guys from undercover arms sold 20 glocks while I was getting one

Undercover arms? I know another dealer there was selling glocks like it was x-mas. If it was them (and not UA), I might have been talking to you...

That's kind of sad really. You should not need an escort at a gun show. My wife's first show should be interesting. Maybe I should wear a GoPro and follow her aroudn isntead of sticking with her.

All NESers i'm sure, we are a respectable bunch round these parts...

I went Sunday morning and started feeling sick later that night.. Got worse over the past few days..

Sounds like Rotavirus, it's been going around and is common this time of year. Spreads easily by touch. Since everything being sold was probably fondled 500 times it sounds like that's what was being passed around.
