I found this in the archives of thehighroad.org"G1FALJanuary 14th, 2004, 03:32 PMIts a muzzle accessory lug, not a bayonet lug. Yes, there are bayonets available for the G1 FALs (same as any other FAL), but they wont fit on the muzzle accessory lug. Try it sometime, you'll see. I tried sticking a bayonet on the lug on the barrel of a G1 kit, and it doesnt work. That lug is ONLY for flash suppressor/brake/ grenade launcher/suppressor.Its not threaded, and a bayonet wont fit on it. So no problem."You would have to feel comfortable yourself but I would believe that's correct. That lug is also for the blank adapter...nothing illegal about that. Just make sure that if you put one of the original looking false flash suppressors on, that you cant mount a bayo on that. Since they were sold during the AWB for the purpose of looks I would think they are safe. I am no AWB law expert so please dont take my word on it...just trying to give you thoughts in your search
