MASS: Doe Permits Out

It's might be the system being down but 12 was 81% last year.

Wow, I thought 12 was a lock like 10, 11, 13, and 14. Do you have the link for those stats?

I put it in for 9, always got it, then get surplus for 10. Do you know when surplus sales start (assuming they fix the system!)

I'll make it easier for everyone. % by zone last year and this year:

Zone. 2017. 2018

1. 38% . 48%
2. 14%. 19%
3. 60% . 73%
4n. 22%. 29%
4s. 25%. 35%
5. 43%. 42%
6. 45% .44%
7. 86% .85%
8. 74%. 73%
9. 100% .100%
10. 100% .100%
11. 100%. 100%
12. 81%. 98%
13. 100%. 100%
14. 100% .100% .

Some went up some went down. Only big change I see is zone 12 went up quite a bit as well as a 10% increase in 4s and 1.

Surplus tags go on sale some time in October. I do the same.....apply for 9 cuz I hunt fort devens......buy a 10 surplus tag cuz it's close to my house and I hunt a couple days close to home.

Also see my last post.....gives % issued last year and this year.

I received no response from my email sent to MassWildlife.

And if I find any corn in the woods, I'm going to piss on it. [pot]

I got a canned email from mass f and g yesterday about the system being down.

Still down, but I did receive an email response yesterday @ 2pm

"Hi. We're having technical difficulties, unfortunately. See the link..."

Rare year....my son, I and my dad all got one for Zone 8.

Likely won't use them....we will take a couple does for the freezer Sept 15 in southern CT where they are overpopulated. We eat about 2-3 deer a year, and don't take more than we would eat. Generally we fill 2-3 tags on opening day and are done with meat hunting for the year.

After that its big bucks! and probably tag soup....

I remember when zone 8 was 100% and you could also get them over the counter.

I do the same in Connecticut. The numbers in southern Connecticut are way down from what they once were.
