Mass guys with LTC's... do you carry .45 or 9mm?

Topic came up in a discussion about the .45 becoming obsolete over time and someone floated their theory that if a federal AWB happens again or mags over 10 rds get banned that people are going to abandon 9mm and go to .45's again like in the 90s. I don't think that's going to happen, but for you people who have had an AWB the past 27 years what are you guys still carrying like it's the 90s with the .45 or are you 9mm 4 Life?
I haven't carried a .45 since I was in my 20s and that was back in the early 80s. Since then I have carried many different 9mm semi-autos and a .38 snubbie for summer carry, both calibers have served me well. The truth is though many people do carry them, the .45 caliber is not for everyone. I suspect that the .45 caliber and all the stories written about it will live forever.. That being said, I seriously doubt that the day will ever come when more people carry .45s than 9mm.

...why are you shouting?

Someone said calibers are like hammers. I'd argue handgun calibers are more like screwdrivers. South of 2200fps all you're doing is poking different diameter holes in whatever you're trying to screw.
So, pick whichever screwdriver you can poke the most holes in the shortest amount of time with and take it with you everywhere. It's as much about breaking contact to be able to retreat as it is having a doom porn shootout. A .22LR, .32, or .380 in the chest is going to make a lot of people question their life choices.

p365 iwb, 10 rounds of 9mm HP - very slim and more than enough for my taste.

I don't think magazine capacity is quite as important as everyone thinks it is. Magazine swaps can be accomplished fairly swiftly, if you train for it. You do carry a spare magazine or two, correct???

There are mags over 10 rounds? (sad MA face)

That is to say, prebans aside, I don't think any theoretical AWB would change my EDC round choice while living in MA. Hell, I don't think it would change it anywhere. I can get the most reps per dollar from 9mm. So I choose the carry the round I'm most muscle-memory familiar with that also offers near universally accepted performance. Just carry a second mag and dial in that reload if worried about round count.

I don't care if you're carrying .40 or .38 or .380, it's simply if you have LTC would you rather it be 9mm or .45?

If I'm carrying a .40, 38 spl or .380 then clearly I'd rather it not be a 9mm or 45 otherwise I would carry one.

Now if you were to make me choose between the 9mm and 45 and I could only have one then it would be 9mm.

These days, 9mm.

Took some friends to the range one time. One of them brought his brand new 9mm. I think it might have been the first pistol he owned as he had just turned 21 that year, but he had shot before as most of his family, dad and uncles, all owned firearms. We set up in the plate pit. I was shooting a PPK/S. For two mags, he missed every shot and I dropped a plate with every shot. It was especially funny as when someone hit with a 9 or .45, the plates fell immediately where when hit with the .380 it fell almost in slow motion, like they were purpose;y mocking this kid for missing with his 9.

Varies. I have both, drill with both, and carry both depending on how I feel any given day. Have prebans for 9s, so that is not a factor.

I could be wrong (it happens) or just strange (?), but I don't sense any big difference in recoil, sight picture recovery or general shootability between the two calibers.

Timer and targets show that I'm about equal with my G19 and my G30. If I was a better shot with the 9mm, I would've continued to carry the G19 but as it stands I carry the G30 instead most days.
