Mass Rifle

MRA is a private club. like most private clubs, they don't rent firearms.

take a look at Bob's Tactical in Amesbury (sp) or American Firearms School in Attleboro

*assuming you are in MA

Disclaimer: i am NOT affiliated with either. I've shot at Bob's and used to be a member of MRA.

MRA

MRA is a great club and they have 24 hour access which is why I joined. I buy a lot of stuff from Four Seasons and when I wasn't sure about something they recommeded me to the Firing Line up in Manchester N.H. so I could rent the gun I was looking at and try it out. It's a nice place but if you want to shoot an AR you have to buy their frangible reloads and it sucks. They're all different length heads causing jambs & stovepipes. It's kind of a haul for me. Since I joined MRA I haven't been back up to the Firing Line, but I will. Like chetD said, Original Bob's Tactical rent's guns. They also sell guns and have great ammo prices. Bob's looks a little sketchy from the outside but it's a really cool place. Bob's is at 90 Lafayette Road ( US Rt.1 ) in Salisbury, MA. I work in Rowley, live in Beverly, but it seems like I live in Rowley, so if I'm loosing my mind after hours I drive 12 minutes north and shoot a few rounds, buy a gun or some ammo or just hang out and shoot the breeze with Jack and the regulars and then go back to work. If it's after 9:00 PM I just swing through Woburn on my way home to Beverly, it's not that far out of the way. N.R.A. G.O.A.L. M.R.A. Disclaimer: I am a member of MRA, but I'm not affiliated with Four Seasons or Bobs other than I've spent way too much money at both places, and I sure I'll spend a whole lot more.

If you like shooting anything other than small caliber rifle and pistol at short range, it's not the club for you. If you like having operational lanes when you go, it's not for you. I will say, however, that the Loeb range being open 24/7 is almost worth it.

Small caliber rifle? The Loeb range will take 3006 if I'm not mistaken. Short range? Twenty five yards is the longest indoor range I have ever used, and the outdoor ranges include 50, 100 and 200 distances.

I know there have been problems with the target carriers in the Loeb range, but I have never had a problem finding an operable lane in the ten years I have been a member. If you don't like the club, just say so. Don't mislead potential members.

PS I failed to mention the indoor rimfire range, air gun range, and the trap and skeet ranges. Oh yeah, don't forget the archery range. Small caliber rifle and pistol are only a small part of the activities that MRA offers.

Just so there is no confusion:[thinking]

Yep, If you want to quick draw your 50bmg pistol and shoot from the hip @ 25yds your are SOL. If you want to shoot 50bmg out door you can not do that either. [rolleyes]

There are round restrictions but you have folks who can not obey the rules for that. I do not agree with the rules but I can see why they are in place. One dope can shut down the range for 1600+ members. All they ask is to put rounds downrange on paper, not the walls, ceiling, baffles on indoor and outdoor ranges etc.

The non-operational target carriers have been addressed.

It's Bush's fault!

"There is no reason to shoot AR-15s or AKs at 50 feet!"

Yup, blame the type of firearm. Not the shooter. Sounds like some other folks we know.

'Nuff said.

Actually it's 75 feet. Tell me some where else where I can shoot up to a .50 Beowolf 24 hours a day within a 25 mile radius of Beverly and I'll check it out. MRA isn't perfect but for my needs they're the best place I know of.
