Well, yes.It would appear that the representative is either unable or unwilling to even consider my point of view as to the foundational causation of how crime occurs in the first place.
I sent letters to all the sponsors, at the time, and a couple got back to me stating they didn't realize how bad the bill was toward law-abiding citizens. They thought it was to clean up the existing laws, and aggressively go after "ghost guns" which they said they fully supported. Not a win, but at least I got them to take another "look" at what the bill was really about. Don't get me wrong, they are going to try to take away anything they can, but don't hesitate contacting a sponsor since they are only going to hear the BS Rep. Day gives them in summary. My rep is sponsor
Well, yes.
That is the case. You’re not surprised, I hope.
No........I am not really surprised at the present turn of events. I am, however, very disappointed that the Beautiful People in the Boston legislature are evidently completely blind to the dystopian condition of how daily life manifests itself when their left-wing progressive idealism is enacted in the real world as seen in the examples of L.A., Portland, Seattle, Austin etc ect.
I had hoped that the misery and complete loss of hope for a better life that many citizens of those urban areas are now trying to struggle with on a daily basis might cause these chosen ones to give serious consideration to the falsity of the idols they have pledged their allegiance to.........but I can't say that the institutional blindness to reality of the left arrives as any great surprise to me.
I am very interested in what will happen when the so-called little people arrive at the conclusion that their lives are not going to improve unless they take drastic corrective action and just how that action will play out. I am unable to foretell with any degree of accuracy what the societal response will entail but I suspect it is going to be loud and messy whatever form it takes. If nothing else future days will certainly not be boring........
Because it's feudalism, plain and simple. Did the lords ever care about the serfs?

...After 5 attempts to explain my opposition to 4420 to my representative this is his response:
It is my hope that any bill brought up for a vote focuses on updating the state's red flag lawsand addresses the rise in ghost guns being used in the commission of crimes.

Send him this:
So the ERPO bills take peoples' guns because "The person might be a threat to themselves or others."
Do they also take the person's cars, ropes, knives, baseball bats, or golf clubs? Do they take away the person's access to high places, or eliminate gravity? Do they take away the person's prescription drugs? Do they prevent people from buying pressure cookers and fireworks? Can they buy a gallon of gas? Can they still rent a UHaul truck?
Because there are many ways for people to hurt themselves or others beyond just guns.
Do they provide ANY counseling or other services to these ostensibly despondent people? Or just take away their guns, thereby PROVING that "they really are out to get them"?
Answer the questions honestly and it becomes evident pretty quick that these bills have nothing whatsoever to do with anyone's safety, and everything to do with just taking guns for the sake of taking guns.

The problem with trying to introduce factual information to these politicians is that they are already convinced that they know all there is to know about a specific subject matter and don't believe that they need to be confused by any facts that don't support their pre-approved narrative.
This.
You don't go into politics because you have a lot of questions. You go into politics because you think you have all the answers.
Or make a lot of money.This.

The whole "ghost guns" argument is BS. If a "ghost gun" (simply a firearm without a serial number) can function as a firearm then it is controlled the same was as serialized firearms or firearms with obliterated serial numbers. If you possess one of these firearms and you do not have a license then you are committing a felony. There is no "get out of jail free" card for an arrest involving a "ghost gun".I sent letters to all the sponsors, at the time, and a couple got back to me stating they didn't realize how bad the bill was toward law-abiding citizens. Ummm… maybe 4 prior times…I've said it a million times now. If there are over 500k registered firearms license holders in Massachusetts, we need to hold a march, with a permit, through the commons, to the state house and protest there for as many hours as legal. Let's start utilizing the tactics of the left against them. We need to show the legislators in this state and the people in Boston, that their gun owning neighbors are peaceful, law abiding, but numerous. We need to do this more than once.

Sarcasm but the useful idiots are real. Those 'talking points' have all been covered here on NES when the windbags spewed them forth. This is satire produced by the Babylon Bee. It also would not surprise me if it were the so-called source of the "facts" the authors relied upon when they wrote 4420.
My point was / is that possession of a firearm in Massachusetts without a license is a felony under state law. Whether or not the firearm has a serial number is immaterial under those circumstances. While possessing a gun without a serial number isn't illegal, possessing one with an obliterated serial number is absolutely a felony. Not everyone is required to serialize firearms they manufacture, and there was no requirement to serialize firearms AT ALL before 1968.
