Massachusetts Bill HD.4420 "An act to modernize gun Laws"

So many have left already, and I don't blame them one bit for doing so. But there is no question that so many pro-gun rights people leaving has greatly weakened the political power of the pro-gun rights people that have chosen to remain in Massachusetts. That's the unfortunate downside. :(
2A rights are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to good reasons to abandon the USS Massachusetts though.

I concur. Rallies and protests do nothing. I've written countless letters and emails, called reps & senators, and donated hundreds of dollars to GOAL, Comm2A & FPC (which I still will). But I have 6 years left in this hellhole and then I'm taking my wife and my pension to a warmer 2A friendly state. I'm done.
This is the way. Massachusetts just doesn't want law-abiding, productive people. You have to believe them at some point when they keep demonstrating who they are.

Opponents of new gun law look to overturn HD-4420 through 2026 ballot question

Gun rights advocates would need to collect thousands of signatures to secure a ballot question about repealing the law.

Members of the Gun Owners’ Action League, the local state affiliate of the National Rifle Association, said this month that they had filed a referendum petition with the office of Secretary of the Commonwealth Bill Galvin. In order to do so, 10 qualified Massachusetts voters had to sign onto the petition.

“Chapter 135 represents the worst attack on civil rights in modern U.S. history,” GOAL said in a statement to Boston.com, referring to the 82-page law.

Certain types of laws are not able to be subject to referendums, and as such the attorney general’s office reviews petitions to determine if they meet constitutional requirements. Galvin referred the petition to Attorney General Andrea Campbell’s office on Aug. 8, asking her to opine on whether it could be the subject of a referendum. Campbell is also required to prepare a summary of the law that would be repealed.

I hope there’s a mechanism to sue AG Campbell when she misrepresents the contents of H.4885
So could someone use that summary in their defense in court. "I followed the laws according to the AG's summary" We all know that summary is going to leave out the really bad stuff.

Yeah MA even got rid of the online renewal for LTCs. Bad enough out of staters have to pay a ben a year to carry in MA and now we have to mail in a renewal packet instead of the old convenient online portal. What was the reason for this?

Lol...of course not, but I like how you think.
Yeah, I can't wait to read it. Should be good for a laugh. That said, I doubt she has even tried to read it, let alone understand it. She will probably use words taken right out of Baby Face Day's recent newspaper quotes. 🤔
