That's a great take on the subject. It reminds me of Harrison Ford in The Fugitive saying that he's innocent and Tommy Lee Jones' reply, "I don't care!".


My dad was a tall man, a WW2 infantry veteran and ramrod straight his entire life. He reminded everyone of Lucas McCain. To him, the world was black and white, right and wrong, with no room for nuance. His brother, otoh, was a senior police official from RI. Our ethnicity is Italian. My uncle, staying in that world his entire life, saw things in varying shades of grey. He had friends on both sides of the law but was closer to the guys in the sharkskin suits than the uniform.


I like to think I'm more like my dad but I'm really nowhere near that rigid.
