So recently I had been looking in to getting a holster for one of my full size pistols as I wanted to try carrying something larger than the PPK/S I had been carrying around since getting my upgraded license. I don't have a bunch of spare coin right now to spend on a crazy nice leather holster so I had been doing some research in to a potential decent new holster for not a lot of money. Enter the MIC holster.

I don't carry all day every day like some folks do so I don't feel the need to go out and spend a ton of cash on a holster I am going to use for maybe a couple hours a week. Upon my research I found three different holsters that peaked my interest:

1. http://www.glocktech.com/ the MIC holster

2. http://www.onesourcetactical.com/zackconcealmentholster.aspx the Zack Holster

3. http://www.ravenconcealmentsystems.com/product_info.php?cPath=82_97_119&products_id=1617 the vanguard trigger guard holster.

As the gun I was planning on using it on was a Glock 22 I figured I'd go for the MIC as it is only designed for Glocks and has been around for a while. So for about $23 shipped to my door I bought the MIC holster on rockyourglock.com. Upon initial receipt I thought to myself that it felt somewhat cheap but I suppose that's because there isn't much to it aside from a formed piece of kydex that primarily covers the trigger and a piece of what I assume to be 550 or para-cord. I found that the holster locked nicely in to place on the trigger guard and would not simply fall off the gun. To pull the gun out you need to pull in an upwards direction either with the cord hooked to your belt or you can grab the kydex part and pull it off that way. The original intent from what I can tell is for appendix carry but I tried carrying it around for a day around the 4-5 o'clock position and found it worked decently there. The gun does shift a little but this may have also been due to the fact that my belts suck and are not meant for carrying. Overall for a little over $20 I think it will work great in a lot of situations. One thing I may do to make putting it off and on a little easier without having to take the gun out of the holster is buy a small carabiner to hook to the cord so it can be easily looped on. I'm curious if anyone else on NES has tried one as I don't believe I have seen any if many posts on it. Most of the reviews by those who have used these holsters seem to be positive. The only negative comments seem to be from the armchair commandos who haven't ever touched one.

I've been using the MIC holster with my Glock 27 quite a bit and carry at the 4 o'clock position with no issues, I personally like the MIC holster, inexpensive, fast, etc. no problems for me with it!
