Considering my perceived quality of "SOME" of the delivery drivers ive had, I just wish the shippers were allowed to be a little more discreet with their packaging. My situational awareness meter goes up a few notches for a couple of days after a delivery like this.....Rant Over, thnks

If the shipment is over a certain quantity it's hazmat regulation that the declaration be on the packaging. The shipper is not going to ignore hazmat regulations for your "discretion". Code of federal regulations (CFR) 49. Covers these regulations.

If a shipment is over a certain quantity depending on the material it has to be labeled.

You could always get a package drop box. Some ppl in my neighborhood have them, you can drop packages in and the lower part has a lock. I've even seen one with a ring doorbell on it.

I understand the label is required only for bulk shipments. However, it is always optional for non-bulk, too. How many pounds of powder arrived in the box?

If you sign up for UPS My Choice (it’s free) you can set you delivery preference to a nearby “UPS Access Point”. Mine is an Advanced Auto Parts store just a few minutes from my house. You can pick anyone you want that would be convenient for you: near home, near work, on the route, etc. UPS emails you when there is something for you to pick up.

Placards are required on the outside of a trailer for 1000 lbs or more. The label is required on every single pkg. regardless of weight.

I hear ya. I recently had a case of 9mm show up in it's factory box. It says CCI/Speer 9mm Blzr. brass 115 Gr. 1150 rds. on the box.

At my old job, one of the other people got a delivery from our friends in CT. Discreet packaging.

FedEx Ground kid says, "This is ammo, right?"

"Why do you think that?"

"Well, its got a hazmat label, it's heavy, it rattles, and it's from Connecticut." [laugh]

They know what's in the plain brown wrappers.

Maybe a dumb question, but is your address on the package that gets sent to AAP?

This sounds interesting to me as long as the place it's getting dropped at cant just look on the box and see my address. I had the same UPS guy for years who was real cool. Now it seems like it's a different guy every time.

I get that. It still doesn't mean I want it sitting on my porch advertising it's contents until I get home to bring it in though. But hey, it's Basspro what else can I expect right? With the way demand has been they're probably drop shipping it directly from the factory. The 3 350 rd packs showed up in exactly the same box they used to come to the store in.

If you're that concerned about opsec, you're better off just having a dealer buddy take it in for you and pay him a small fee for handling... most of the ones that I have a business relationship one won't give a shit about this because they don't deal with most reloading crap anyways.

Luckily when I order Viagra and sex toys for the weekend, the packaging is more "discreet".

Although it should be labeled as "Explosive".

I understand wanting discretion when packages are delivered, but if you were the UPS guy, don't you think you would appreciate knowing if packages were explosive?

You are taking Viagra to get it up for your Fleshlight? You have issues.

My mailman knows what's in the boxes I get. He's very pro-gun and doesn't care. All my neighbors know I have lots of guns and don't give a sh*t either.

Hell, when my kid was on the WCLSC Sportsmen's News' cover, I found out by my mail carrier saying, "I want the autograph of the famous kid!" [laugh]
