I have two rifles built on Model 1 kits. One has been upgraded so much that the only Model 1 parts left are parts of the LPK and the upper (not barrel). The other is all M1S except for the lower. Both have basically been flawless except for one bad batch of ammo that was jamming up both rifles as well as my Colt and my YHM.

Funny I saw the thread title and was going to say vellnueve will be by soon.

I have a a basic model 1 upper/kit on one of my NES lowers. It has gone bang everytime. When I got it the FSB was tweaked but they fixed it. I ordered it at the peak of the obamascare and waited months.

try these, cost is a little higher but the quality of parts used is better. the brake they pinned for me is very clean, much better than my bushmaster.

I actually called them to get a price and they told me they wouldn't build/ship a 16" MA compliant upper. Did you get it recently ?

I bought a 20" .22LR AR barrel from them. The barrel itself was OK but the front sight was pinned on with a major cant. I ended up removing the front sight and using a clamp-on style railed base (properly aligned) to cover the holes. My kids love that rifle.

Also bought a 5.56 pencil barrel from them for a lightweight carbine build. It's not a Noveske but it headspaces properly and does the job. With a float tube it's actually pretty accurate for what it is.

Overall I'd suggest staying away from anything from them that has a pinned front sight base. Seems like the parts themselves are OK but the assembly is a bit on the loose side.

I ordered the upper complete kit on Apr. 15th.... still waiting. Checked with sales and they said 5 to 6 weeks wait.

but would you say there good to start with and learn to upgrade from I'm looking into getting a ar and would like to build one.

I've got a M1SALES 16in upper with a stainless shaw bull barrel 1:9 twist free float tube running an Aimpoint pro it works well stays accurate and goes boom every time..

I have built 3 using their uppers. No problems with any of them. All function exactly as intended.

I finally got my 20" upper in and it has fired every time, their triggers SUCK but you get what you paid for.

You can order everything online and have it sent straight to you other than the lower receiver. That's what I did.
I ordered a fully built lower from another shop and had that shipped to a local FFL

I created an account and picked what I want. The wait time was 4 weeks and it was the best price on a upper kit at the time. The kit was the upper, A2 stock and LPK, all you needed was the lower. Warning, the trigger sucked!

I own two uppers from model 1. The first one had a problem with the gas tube. I sent it back to them and they had it repaired and at my door 7 days later. The second one I purchased has run flawlessly.

Like others have said, the triggers suck. Grab a lower parts kit somewhere else....
