More Lead Availability :

So forget keels then. I've never had an issue scraping anything we do deal with small yards. Only a few end up handling it in the end smaller guys jump on bigger yards sales to get better prices.
I called place near me -Dirty lead - keel would bring .02 cents lb at one place. BUT they do not want keels encased in fiber glass. Wheel weights if well sorted from iron and plastic .08/lb
Clean lead like un used flashing .27/lb
Sorted stick on wheel weights .12l/ib

I always wanted to get a inside friend at a yard with a shredder , would be cool to have a few shredding opptions for such things.

Here is that sail boat in bridgeport
Neighbor had his some what large sailboat scrapped , they came with machines and dumpsters and shredded it to pieces on site. The keel was long gone before I moved in. Says he donated it to a sail boat building school ? Think it cost him $5000 to get rid of the caucus!

I will add that me keel experience was before I even had a computer.
I have since seen people use carbide chainsaw blades and rip through them .

Long wood blades on a Sawzall work well I have used the ones for nail embedded wood they don't clog as fast. I've cut foundry blocks that way.
