My son wanted a Mosin rifle for Christmas, I picked out the cleanest numbers-matching example complete with a numbers matching bayonet. It came with an oiler and a belt cartridge pouch. Well, his birthday is coming up and he wants accessories for it. What accessories exist for the Mosin? I'm thinking the usual; stripper clips, sling, broken shell extractor, cleaning kit, bayonet frog.....anything I'm missing?

I'll check it out Mac, thanks. Hes got enough ammo for as much as he wants to shoot, its plentiful and cheap around here. I saw some Federal Fusion hunting loads for it the other day. Had never seen that before, but then again I haven't looked either. He wants to use it for firearms deer season next year lol. I tell him "whatever you shoot best with". Hes holding decent groups from the bench. He needs to dial it in a bit and practice from field positions.

Well the cleaning kit comes with 4 parts for the cleaning rod,the bolt and, bayonet tool.Oiler ,sling, bayonet, clips, ammo, and a good bottle of vodka.Your good to go comrade.

yes if he can maintain kill zone shots with the mosin thats fine. wouldnt be mu choice of rifles though....to long to carry around for me. Again I have to travel out of state to use a rifle on deer.

Those archangel stocks are pretty cool. I wouldn't mind having a "stock" mosin and buying another one to change over into that archangel stock. I believe there are timney triggers you can drop in with some slight modifications.
I love my mosin and everyone that shoots it loves it too.

He has his choice of just about anything you can think of for firearms season, he just really digs his mosin!

For a mosin all I'd be into is a sling, ammo, and stripper clips. Also some ammo pouches if you're getting ready for zombies.

Of the standard accessories, the one that you really do need is the tool for measuring firing pin protruberage:

+1 on the Archangel stock and Timney trigger. Mine shoots like a dream. I also bought a bipod.
