What do people think of this as a (mostly) trap gun/ possible bird gun ?. Looks like there's plenty used avail. for short $. I have a nice old Rem 1100 with 26/28 barrels, but would like to have a pump in the collection as well, maybe something the rest of my family would shoot also. Looking at a 28", modified choke for around 200$ Thanks

My 14 year old son shoots trap with his 20 ga 500 and hits them well. A 12 is always better for trap and a lot of guys use 1100's.
Your 1100 is also a 20 ga? The 500 is a great inexpensive all around gun but the only thing I see is you will be handicapping yourself on the trap line with a 20.
