Mossberg 500A 12g Questions

I just picked up one of these bad boys at Four Seasons this afternoon, and I am noticing that I can only fit 2 shells in the tube. If feels as though there is no more give for any more shells but yet the manual says that the 500 models have 1 in the chamber and 5 in the tube. Any thoughts on this? I guess I could call Four Seaons and ask

happened to me-- the plug was the full size of the tube.

i had to cut it down

I think some shotguns are shipped with a dowel in the tube to limit 2 shells. 2 shell capacity is required to comply with some hunting laws.

You have to remove the dowl plug. Read the instructions, it is easy to do.

if you unscrew the cap, and tip the gun down, it should just fall out
