These are cheap as hell, at like $199.99. I've been wanting a .22 AR, like the S&W or the Ruger but now I saw this in a magazine. Does anyone know anything about them or if it is even MA compliant? Thanks!

Wow. That's cheap. The m&p 22 is nice but at $400 it's not worth it, $100 more gets you a CMMG 22 that's built on REAL AR receivers with real AR parts.

But for $199 . . . Wow. It it works, it's a steal.

I wouldn't buy one.

If I was going to buy a .22 AR, I would buy something that's actually a .22LR AR, like the MP15-22, or a dedicated .22LR upper. The mossberg is nothing more than a gussied up "plinkster".

Or the CMMG which is actually a **REAL** AR in .22 LR for less than the cost of a Spike's .22 upper. (and it works great)

Meh. I'm a Spikes fanboy [laugh]

But, in all seriousness, the Mossberg is nothing like an AR. It's silhouette vaguely resembles that of an AR, from a distance, in the fog, but that's about it.

Yep, checked out the Mossy a couple of times, it's pretty ugly, even feels bad. There's a reason why it's $199.00. Price isn't always the best reason to purchase. For my money, I'd take another M&P15-22... it is by far the best of it's kind on the market. My wife and I battle over who gets to shoot ours. Soon as I can, I'll have another one of those. I've kept my eye out for a good used deal... but you rarely see them for sale used.. think there's a reason for that ... [grin]

I'll put my cash in S&W, ruger or any .22lr conversion kit before I laid it on this firearm.

In my mind if the controls aren't identical to a real ar, I'd rather shoot my 10/22.

Oh wait. The CMMG is a real AR. It can even be had with a real bolt hold open.

Sorry to be such a shill but for 500 it's a steal. They run great and are made out o real AR parts.
