I thought I heard something about the T is running without major delays for the first time... Ever IIRC. I wouldn't expect that to hold up for too long. It's notorious for either not running on time, or not running at all. I wouldn't put my trust into the thing for something important, like getting to work on time. I also wouldn't subject myself to it's schedule for going to/from work. With my field, there are times when I would work late at the office. Typically when I'm deep into an issue resolution and it needs to get done ASAP. I don't want to be dependent on the T running well when I'm finally done for the day.

I'm also not going after any roles that are either inside Boston, or too close to it. Well, unless they have company provided parking that is. Still, I'm not looking to spend 2+ hours each way getting to/from a work location.
