There is no effing way you would get charged with improper storage if the gun was in a locked case in a locked storage unit. None at all. A car is not a locked storage unit. Every storage facility that I have been in has video surveillance. If a unit was broken into, the video would show that there was a padlock on the unit. There is your proof that it was stored in accordance with the law. No DA is going to try to prosecute that.
