Dumb question...hard anodizing and parkerizing. Would combining the two on a single firearm look OK? Are they similar finishes? I haven't had a chance to get somewhere to compare side by side

Anodizing is really a treatment for nonferrous metals, though it can sort of be done on ferrous ones but it is not common, and parkerizing is only for ferrous ones, so I am not sure how you do both.

Or are you referring to something like an aluminum frame and carbon slide on the same pistol?

I am sure there is a 1911 somewhere that would have that combination.

Yes two separate material appropriately finished parts put together. Just curious if they would blend well on the firearm.
Offending finishes dont blend well , but they can look cool.
I have a M1garand That could use a refinish . I eas thinking as dark as possible park then a overly bright contrastingcerkote for the small prts like electric metalic purple
