Hey All,

So I couldn't wait another day, so I trekked up to Bob's Tactical in Salisbury to try out the new 1911. Its not a bad place up there, just a bit far. I haven't shot much in a few years, not including the safety course, but I certainly haven't shot a .45 in 5 or 6 years. I put 200 rounds of Winchester through her today. The first few rounds took some getting used to, but after a few mags, I started to get a little more comfortable.

Those were my last 12 rounds. I didn't have any misfires or failures to load. All in all not a bad day. I'm pretty hooked. I'm glad I went with the 1911. I wonder what will be next??

Good choice. The 1911 is one of the best designs of all times. S&W makes great guns with the best customer service I have found in the industry.

I noticed something today when I was moving my 1911 into its new safe... There are a couple marks on the finish, where it looks like its scratched off. One by the ejection port and the other on the other side just above and to the right of the logo on the slide... Does anyone know how I could fix this, or am I worrying about nothing?

A gun with a lot of marks on the finish is a good gun... it gets lots of use. You should see the holster marks on my DK1911... the black slide almost looks like stainless! [grin]
