Hi folks,
I just picked up my first 1911, a brand new Sig Sauer 1911RM and am wondering if there is anything I should know about this gun specifically. I've never owned a Sig anything, but I've heard from some people they are picky about ammo, need to be super clean to run right, and can be tempermental about dust and dirt. I just stripped and cleaned/oiled mine but have yet to take it to the range.
I don't know how magazines for 1911s work, are they pretty much interchangeable, or do I need to buy extras that are specifically for my Sig? Does anyone make a 10 round extended magazine for them?
Also, I just ordered a Crossbreed Supertuck for it (I have one for my Ruger P345) and wondered if there is a good way to avoid or minimize "holster wear"? My Ruger gets pretty scratched up from every day carry, and the bluing has kind of rubbed off the front end of the slide from contact with my skin. The Sig is Stainless, though...
Any words of wisdom I can get from the experts will be greatly appreciated.
