My wife is on the board again

Pete's on the board too ! I was going to pass because I know where there is a larger one but the body on this was awesome. And I'm not a trophy hunter. Heart shot at 200 yards. He never moved. Just dropped.

I almost shit myself trying to drag him off the field so I can dress him out.

Oh, and my son in law got one as well. I've yet to get eyes on it. What a day.

The rut is in full swing. My boy was all over six does.

My wife has a new name, OD (one n' done). Whitetail doe down. Perfect plan. We setup above a small creek. On a hill about 75 feet above. I figured they were bedding to our right on private. It is heavily wooded there, and likely wet.

If they bypassed the creek and climbed up the other hill, we would still have a shot, max about 250 yards.

I had a couple spots where I could peek into the trees, hoping to get a glimpse before they came into our shooting lanes. Well, finally one of my plans came to fruition. I got a glimpse of a leg. I told Cathy to get ready. It took at least ten minutes before we got a legit glimpse of her. 120 yards broadside. Cathy let's it rip.

Bang. Deer doesn't move. It looks around. Then it takes off. We thought she missed. But cathy insisted that she had everything perfect, she was calm and felt good about the shot. So I said, "well then let's go down there and see if you got her. She's probably dead. "

I go to the spot where the deer was and see no blood. But I saw where she ran. I look right, take a step and there she is. Amazing. Thing tried to run up the hill. Had to be a gallon of blood where it couldn't go any further and then tumbled back down. Went maybe 75 feet. Just a great shot.

That's makes eight deer in the freezer for this hunting family. A bunch of this will be used for jerky.
