rifle, pistol, shotgun. kid/guest friendly.how's westfield's rules now?? agawam's new? rifle range (100yd?]????????????? basically trying to decide on which area range to join.TIA.

Westfield is not kid or guest friendly. It is $65 a year and has a 300 yard range. I a member here and at S&W. I will probably join agawam as I have heard good things. I don't think they have long distance ranges though

I've been a member at Agawam for a few years now and have been extremely pleased. They expanded the rifle range last year so it's around 100 yards now. The guest policy is about the most wide open I've encountered so far.

thank;s can anyone tell me about pioneer-valley??? used to be a member do you still need a sponsor?? ranges??? also can you shoot shotgun at agawam?clay's?

I belong to Agawam and S&W, like em both alot. Been going to S&W all winter with the bad weather and all, now that the weather has broken, been going out to Agawam, very nice there and the indoor is very nice. Now on to Pioneer, it is the closest to my home, I virtually live 2 miles from there. We took a ride up sunday morning and picked up an application. It looked ok a few weeks ago, a friend brought me up and we shot at the 100 yd range. They have a skeet range with a low and a high tower, I also noticed a range down below with a bunch of guys shooting, not sure about exactly what was down there.. Cost is $100.00 peryear I believe. You need a sponsor there and have to wait till the meeting the 1st of every month to apply then another 30 days for approval, I believe.. I take it you are from W. Spfld..?

yep westside,so pioneer is the closest to me,when are the meetings?1st of evey month, what time?can i shoot clays at agawam?what can anyone tell me about westfield?

No clays at Agawam. That's my one complaint, they don't have a trap/skeet range.

EDIT: The guest policy makes up for it, though. In the past year I've brought a half dozen people to the range that have never even held a gun before, and at Agawam they're allowed to actually shoot. And I can bring them back as much as I want. The only restriction is formal instruction has to be cleared through the board. So if you're a certified instructor and want to hold a class, you need permission, but if you're just a member who wants to introduce new shooters to the sport, you're free to do so without restrictions.

No, there is not an area to shoot clays from the air in Agawam.
