NES Lost Another One: Ken Maurer Passed Away

Damn, when I first landed here, I asked him a LOT of questions about local clubs, gun laws, and all the stupid stuff I didn't understand.

He was always, patient, and freely sharing his knowledge.

RIP Ken, thanks so much for all your help over the years. A true class act.

I took a class with Ken a long time ago. And I remember one piece of wisdom he shared.

He and his wife were getting ready for a very fancy dinner/party. He may have been wearing a tux.

His wife saw him put a handgun in his pocket and asked him if he really thought he'd need that during this event?

His reply? If he really thought he'd need it they wouldn't be going...

:)

Either we were in the same class, or that was a favorite anecdote.

Did Ken write a book about WW2 air warfare? I watched a yt video about Lucky Luckadoo and in the beginning they referenced a book by Ken Maurer.

It looks like the author was a Kevin Maurer.

I wasn't wearing my glasses, lazy afternoon. Thanks.
