New Acquisitions for October, 2016

Snagged a Performance Center 1911 on the cheap. Definitely needed some TLC (I'm not sure it had ever been cleaned), but after a detail strip and some elbow grease it's looking pretty sweet. JMBxxxx s/n

My numero uno bucket list gun:

View attachment 179011

Early 80's Monson, MA Dan Wesson 44 VH (.44 Magnum). Dad carried one for back-up on several Alaskan hunting and fishing trips. No extra barrels nor the 'Pistol Pack', but was exactly what I was looking for in excellent condition plus a very good price for what it is. Will need to take another pic to show the great finish that DW put on these during this time. iPhone didn't do it justice.

Accuracy exactly what is expected from the classic DW's. Above target at 25 yards. Shot with the red x was to spot the POI. Changed the POA and shot 6 in or touching the X-ring and the remaining 4 in or touching the 10-ring. Wish I could shoot CMP with this instead of a 1911...

Very nice. Glad to see more people buying these classic revolvers. Glad you were able to buy/transfer it.

After a 10 month wait, this beauty finally came home with me last weekend!

After a little over 9 months wait, picked this up from Lou this afternoon. BEC 0011. Lou's pics are better than mine, so I didn't think he would mind me misappropriating them [wink]

Nice!!! Two new NES Caspian Group buy builds delivered in one week. How was your first range day with her?

I love it !

But for the silly holes drilled in the trigger.

What are they for ?

Lou does great work. I'm very happy with the improvements he did to my Colt 1911.

I didn't get it in October, but I wanted to share and this is the first chance I had. It's a Ruger Super Blackhawk, .44 magnum, obviously stainless, 5.5" barrel. Generally, I shoot .44 Special through it, although I have shot a few hot 44 mag softpoints too. Phew! The kick isn't so bad, but the beautiful rosewood grips get slick and are hard to hold onto. Maybe I'll get some rubber Hogues or such. I got it from Tombstone Tactical in AZ (under $600!), and transferred by FS. As much as I support local businesses, in this case LGS, I couldn't resist the price, especially since everybody has the 7.5", but nobody had the 5.5" barrel at the time.

EGW on both the thumb and grip safeties, but he recontoured the thumb safety. I didn't ask for a price breakout. He quoted the complete build.

Picked this up from a fellow NES'r last week. Remington 700 AAC-SD attached to a Masterpiece Arms Competition chassis, Vortex Crossfire 6-24x50 scope.

5/44 M1 Winchester Garand, Danish use with matched stock (channel and keel). I chipped out the plastic plug in the grip and put back the Danish coin as the Danes did (or a unit disc). Original Winchester barrel and Lock Bar rear sight. LGS find.

Hi all,

I think I got really bored with black rifles after all this years. After buying a CZ 452 Scout for my sons 10th Birthday I fell in love with the brand.

This my recent pick up off Gun Broker CZ 550 FS in 308

Always wanted one

Then decided on a Vortex scope that I have been thinking about for a few months now.

Nice man! Love my P99c. I recommend checking out Talon rubber grips for it. It can be a little slippery. The Talon adds the perfect texture without adding any bulk and still looks great. Best $17.99 I've spent.
