Starting first acquisition thread for 2016, hoping it's a great year for adding to our collections!

Picked this up technically yesterday but.. found it on a Facebook gun page. Angelo Zoli Field Model O/U, I have been looking for one that did not have a bird or dog in the engraving. According to prior owner it's from the 80's, read mixed reviews about it so we will see how it shoots tomorrow. Took a $350 gamble seller through in 100 shells. How do you think I did, any experiences with this model?

New to me Benelli M1 Super 90 :)

Before (can't figure out the 'cammo' paint job + the flashy sticker, oh well to each his own):

And after a lot of scrubbing (and probably losing a few brain cells from the acetone):

It was a first time purchase from GunBroker. Overall process went well but very very slow. Gun was so dirty with leaves and stick pieces to boot, probably took a few dunks in a duck pond or something and never got cleaned. Thankfully it cleaned up surprisingly well. It was obvious that I was the first person ever to remove and clean the recoil spring and tube, yikes!

I was thinking of extending the mag tube but it feels so nice as is and i may just leave it all stock for now. Besides a Benelli extended mag tubes are crazy expensive! I guess you get what you pay for?

Was going to get that over under, read badthing about the firing pins and parts not being around. Two brothers owned the company the brother who made yours quit, and the other brother doesn't offer parts for his brothers builds. But still makes firearms

Here's what I found on values
Grading
100% | $450
98% | $400
95% | $360
90% | $330
80% | $300
70% | $270
60% | $240

I'm,going to guess it's better than anything like mossberg, saiga, or Spartan puts out for the same money. Parts if needed I'm sure can be found. Most parts are most likely borrowed from others.
Go shoot it ! If it breaks you could part it out and possible make your money back anyway.

how is that BCM comp on your AR? is it loud and how is the muzzle flash?

looking at that and the YHM phantom for the scar 17

I have owned both. (on ARs) Get the BCM hands down out of the 2. Why not just keep the PWS brake that comes on the Scar?

I havent shot it but from everything i hear the pws brake is horrible to shoot with friends, and indoor ranges..

I have also heard without it it recoils about the same as a m1a, which i fine as long as i throw on the limb saver.

I will take a tad more recoil for a more pleasant range trip

How are you liking that grip with the rail on the 1911? Does it seem solid?

I only shot about twenty rounds through it. The gun came with those grips on it and they seemed fine. I would have to give it a good work out before I could give you my seal of approval

yeh but how nice is that when your shooting with friends next to you? isn't the thing loud as hell.. and what about when you shoot indoors?

with a limbsaver i can take a little more recoil for less concussive blast.
not Concussive at all. There was a Guy who sat in the same Table to my right that had a Stag Arms ( I also had a Stag on one of my AR's) and I felt the wind in my face at about 6 feet away, Andrew1220 and I went to Andover last weekend and he was in the same spot and he also has the PWS and felt NADA, and when he was shooting It was a lot quieter than the TROY, STAG, YHM and Spikes that I have had in the past. i'll try to get a vid next time, also anyone who wants to try my AR to feel/Hear the diff I'm down

Andrew 1220 can chime in

Yep, I was at the adjacent table to Mike and didn't think his AR with the PWS was obnoxiously loud. Seemed like a typical AR to me, no harm sitting/shooting right next to him.

So I've had this for a while now, but finally got around to "unbanning" it from it's thumbhole stock.

Since now it's basically a new gun, I'm throwing the picture out.

cue pants bulge. love those grips, haven't seen the blue and black ones personally just the orange tiger striped ones. out of curiosity, do they make bobtailed 1911 pc's? i love my e series for the bobtail but have looked into a pc piece.

The 1911 with the orange and black stripes is a bobtailed 1911 PC. Am I missing something? I just replaced my grips.
