Looks like we need an October thread.
Late last month I picked up a 1916 Enfield No. 1 Mk. III* SMLE, and today I received a 1940 M38 Carcano. The two of these complete my WW2 sub collection. The Enfield is a rebuilt mismatch save the bolt, and the Carcano is a stock mismatch, albeit in a Terni stock. The Carcano has a K98 sling which is a correct possibility. The Germans gave the Italians permission to copy the K98 sling; the Italians deleted the frosch, reversed the sling, and connected the loop end with a button. I still need the uncommon folding M38 bayonet for it; that will cost 3/4 of what the rifle did. The Enfield has a 1918 Wilkinson bayonet, and a 1943 sling and frog.
