Finished putting my new Savage BA 10 Stealth in 6.5 Creedmoor together this weekend. Added a Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50mm FFP scope, Vortex Match Precision Rings, McMillan butt stock, Precision Armament Brake, Accu-Shot Monopod, Harris Bipod and a Vortex level.

Have her semi zeroed with a bore laser and hope to get to the range this week to stretch her legs. Going to be fun!!!

Got this as a gift for my son today, a Winchester 1873 "in the white" in .357 magnum. Pictures doesn't do this thing justice:

Wow, beautiful! A piece of art! Is your son going to shoot this or put it on the wall? And, btw, you're a great dad!

Sig 1911 tacops. It's my retirement gift from the wife and son. 25 years....combination of army active duty and national guard.....couple trips to the sand box in 03 and 09......but it's time to hang the boots on the wire and move on.

Anyway.....amazing retirement gun. Tested it out tonight.....300 rounds of flawless function right from the box. Accuracy.....it's a 1911.....ragged hole at 25 feet fist sized group at 50 feet. Feels great.....it's my first ever 1911.....shot em before but never owned one. Only thing that surprised me was the take up on the trigger is gritty......once I hit the back of the take up it's a 1911......crisp but the gritty take up was not expected. It'll probably Smooth out with a few hundred more rounds. If not I'll get a Smith to do a trigger job on it.

The fit and finish is impeccable. I was drawn to the nitron finish.....that Matt charcoal color just says "all business". Tritium night sights.....4 mags.....flaired mag well......rail......just a "get it done" package that's not flashy.

Excellent. Congrats on retiring and very nice 1911 as your first!
If you are any good at taking things apart and putting them back together, a 1911 is pretty easy. You can get a trigger track stone from Brownells/ Midway and get in there to smooth things out. I've done more than a few trigger jobs on my 1911's. The trigger track stone is a must have. Then again it could just be grime and grit stuck in there from the factory and just needs to be taken down and cleaned out.

I had a 1911 issued to me in the early 1990s when I was a Gunner so Ive field stripped them before. The m9 took awhile to get to all units

I took it down and cleaned it yesterday......took me a moment to remember the steps but I figured it out.

I'll check out the stone to polish the trigger parts.

I think I got the gun bug. New 1911 TRP, just put the first 200 rounds through her. At first I thought it was odd that the first shot was dead target center and all the other shots seemed to have completely missed.... That is untill I realized the other 6 shots went through the same hole. Scary accurate.

Getting a jump start on my Space Force application, they can't deny me if I have my own pew pew device!

CMMG MkGs Banshee 9mm looking very sleek in white!

The ranges in Philly are full of .50 tiger striped Desert Eagles, this will be the first space gat :emoji_alien::emoji_gun:

(458 Lott for reference)

Probably the most best bang for the buck 1911’s in the market today.
Love trp’s, great buy.

To be honest I am not in love with the rail or the take down process. However, the extra weight in the front certainly aids in the performance.

Must get the Dawson precision trap door guide rod, makes field stripping a lot easier
