New Aquisitions November 2018

A perfect example of assault weapon ban idiocy, in all the wrong ways.

But... it’s an unfired HK rifle in the original cardboard and the price was too good to walk away from. The real trick now will be to somehow avoid spending a pile of money converting it.

Its actually against the law to purchase one of those and NOT convert it. Soooo.... im gonna have to ask you to convert it and post pics.

Maybe after I do the USC. Time to see what this e-forms business is all about.

Is it my imagination or is the eforms site a disaster? I can't get past the first user registration page because it won't populate the City dropdown. I've tried on 3 different (updated) browsers. Using Chrome sends the site into some looped error process. I think their lookup tool is broken.

I figured it out. I had to disable my browser security settings, as they were causing problems with the site's java script (maybe?). 1 form submitted, 2 to go.

6/1985 Walther P1 9mm in “original” AIM box, graded “excellent”. Bw Army property mark. Came with spare magazine, Flecturn holster (1994), and manual. Got some NATO 9mm to try again tomorrow.

Keeping my pace alive since the move north. Spikes Honey Badger, M&P22 compact threaded and waiting for Sig 22 suppressor, and the one I’m most excited about. Phantom

Dumb guns.

Tom Bostic at Tommy Built Tactical | Home will turn that into a G36 or a XM8. I bought one of his G36 receiver builds, amazing job and a fun gun. The price is very fair, I think he does all the kits you would buy at HKParts.net.

Is that one of his T36s? Is it all US (non-HK) parts? Saw those on his site and the price seemed reasonable enough.

I've been looking at G36 parts and I can't believe how expensive they are. There's a perfect parts kit that I would grab right now except that it's $2500, and I'd be looking at another $1k anyway to have the work done. And I'm sitting here wondering if I need to get it now (or risk never seeing one again). That's over $5k all-in. I can get a factory HK94 for that much. Or 2 or 3 Brens. Tough to justify.

I am about to take delivery on the T36c, that is a Tommy Built pistol on his own receiver with the rest being HK German parts. I think there is a law that says some percent of the parts have to be US sourced, 922c maybe?? With the tax stamp to SBR it, the stock and the T36c I'm in about $3,000, maybe a little more. A lot of people do the conversions because they want the real HK stamped receiver. With the skyrocketing cost of the SL8 and the good HKParts.net kit being $2500 if you don't care about the Tommy Built receiver its the way to go. I will post some pics when it comes in, I should have it by this time next week.

That price is great if it's using HK parts (aside from the 922 compliance parts). He must have bought up a bunch of the kits, or he has a deal with hkparts.net.
