New BAR in 30-06 that weighs less than 12 lbs.

Too bad it's in 30-06. Sure, it's a fine cartridge for grandad's pre 64 model 70 but you can do anything it could do in a much shorter package today

NOT BAR...

Though an interesting concept, ARs are available in 30-06. If I were to get a BAR, it would be a classic JMB, handy dandy, 19 pound, BAR.

So...if you're not shooting full auto what does this do for you that a Garand wouldn't, other than use box mags?

Use box magazines. Seems like an important change, considering the M14s were often pinned into semi auto only. Says so in the Army technical manual that comes with a M1A.

Sure *maybe* you could do anything a 30-06 could do in a shorter package, but the 30-06 is 125% mother f'ing 'MURICA!

Ohio ordnance was rumored to be building a Colt monitor reproduction... I might be interested in that...

If you've ever shot full auto, you know how much fun it would be to shoot full auto 30-06 in a shoulder fired, gas operated, magazine fed weapon. I like a nice belt feed so I can keep my attention on the target, but with mobility in mind...that's not a bad rifle.

I have a .308 M&P with some serious glass that would probably make short work of anything that fake bar could destroy...but you just have to look as these as novelty items...if you can afford them, that's awesome...spend away! Can I shoot it though?
