It seems as though most of the members on here are from Mass. Where are the NH guys (and girls!) shooting?

I belong to the Pemi, but its a bit of a hike for me. Id really like to meet up with some of the other members, and perhaps meet a shooting buddy. I think I could benefit alot from shooting with someone else.

Major Waldrons in Barrington. Its about 30 minutes from me; I would love for there to be something closer, but my options on this side of the state are pretty limited!

What kind of shooting do you do? My suggestion is to attend as many matches in whatever discipline(s) you enjoy as you can. You'll meet plenty of people who shoot, experiance shooting on many different ranges, and you'll become a better shot yourself. Win / win / win.

jasons; a little bit of everything, though Im looking to get into some distance shooting.

Well then you have a lot of opportunities. It's winter so not much going on at the rifle ranges, but in the spring Nashua has a very busy schedule. I'd hit up one of their clinics and then come out and shoot.

Winter means indoors (mostly) and indoors means pistol (mostly) so keep an eye out for indoor clubs that do action or bullseye or pins or steel matches. Pretty much every club down this way does at least one of those every few weeks, I'm sure the ranges up in your neck of the woods do as well.

jasons - thanks for the reply, I will be sure to check out Nashua's schedule come spring. I'm looking into a few courses around that time as well, and with any luck Ill have all the parts in hand and will have wrapped up my long range build by then.

Marcus99 - thanks for the tip about the Sportsmens Club, I recall going there quite a bit when I was younger but completely forgot about it. I'm actually just a few miles from there. The website doesn't provide much information regarding their range. Is it pistol only? Distance(s)? Open year round, etc?

You might want to go shoot or at least observe some matches before you build a rifle. Depending on what type of shooting you end up liking there could be certain equipment rules that you'll want to know about ahead of time. For example compensators are cool if you're shooting 3-gun, but against the rule if you're shooting match rifle.

We don't have any long range ranges around here either, so building an all-out long range gun is probably a waste.

I am not a member anywhere. When I do shoot it has been with my father in law at Belmont indoor range. They live up in the West Ossipee area and we drive the 50 or so minutes to get there and make an afternoon out of it.

Not a problem, this build will happen either way...if I need to add something else to the fleet it wont break my heart!

It is open year round to both pistol and rifle. Backstops are 10, 25, 50 and 100yds. It's a small club with a diverse group of shooters who shoot a little bit of everything; I've seen AR's, antique BP muzzleloaders, revolver guys, 1911 shooters, hunting rifles, milsurp collectors, bechrest shooters, a guy interested in small pocket pistols, and pretty much any other type of shooter you could think of. If you are that close by you should definitely check it out.
