About a week ago I picked up a Sig 238 more or less on a whim. I liked the way it looked and it’s size. I never really considered the .380. At any rate I just love this little pistol. It is extremely well made and it shoots like a real gun. I was amazed. Also real sights that I can actually see. At this point I have put several hundred rounds through it and it has functioned flawlessly. FMJ, JHP, self defense rounds, it just eats everything. In one trip I put 200 rounds of mixed ammo through it as fast as I could with no discomfort and then left it dirty for the next outing without issue.. I am considering carrying it so I have been kind of torture testing it a bit.

I have a pocket holster on order that will cover the safety. Does anyone have an experience pocket carrying this pistol? The safety seems stiff enough that it should stay on, but I confess to a little trepidation.

I pocket carry it's brother the 938 when the pants permit without issue. Just remember pocket carrying equals frequent cleanings as everything has a way of getting trapped in it.

Pocket carry is tricky with this gun if you want the hammer back. When I carry my 238, it's pocket or iwb with hammer forward, safety off. If I carry owb on a hike, then it's hammer back, safety on.

For the heck of it I googled "pocket carrying the Sig 238". Evidently this is a raging topic on a lot of forums because a boat load of responses popped up. There does not seem to be definitive answer. Even Sig is a bit vague.

I love my 238. So easy to conceal and like you said, it's like a real gun! I shoot it every time I am at the range, not because I feel obligated to train with my carry gun, but because I genuinely enjoy shooting it.

The safety is nice and stiff, I pocket carry or IWB, but either way its cocked and locked. Hasn't been a problem thus far.

I have pocket carried my 238 in a Remora holster. Usually I appendix carry in a cheap Blackhawk. it is comfortable, not great for re-holstering but that is the least of my worries if I have to pull it. I tried the Remora IWB with the clip but it is not what i wanted. Poor design at best

I pocket carry mine all the time. I bought a kydex neck holster and put in in my pocket with a double half hitch around the belt loop. Condition one. No worries.

Make sure you get good .380 defensive ammo. Underwood xtreme penetrators are the best,

pocket carry mine every day. Love it. Love shooting it. Love the accuracy. Love the reliability.
My Shield 9mm sits in the safe crying for attention.

Hogue(sp) grips will dress it up real nice too.

This. I'm usually no fan of the Hogue overmolds, but they move the 238/938 to another level. I carried a 238 for a couple years before graduating to a 938, and they're fantastic guns.

Great little guns, shot a buddy of mine's a few times and nearly pulled the trigger on a purchase of one on more than one occasion. Sometimes judgement gets the better of me though, I have enough carry guns already. (If that's even possible)

Good luck with it, sounds like you already fell in love with it.

Mini 45. Great carry pistol and comfortable to shoot. But... I wasn't a fan of carrying with hammer back and couldn't get behind the idea of cocking a hammer if I ever needed to use it in a hurry. Switched to a Kahr P380. A mini Glock.

I have been pocket carrying this gun every day since I originally posted in a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster that I originally bought for a Keltec P32. Seems to work just fine. I carry cocked and locked. Great little gun. I have some Underwood 90 gr. penetrators on the way (Lehigh Defense bullet)

Just noticed this thread and as it happens I picked up a P238 Equinox last Saturday.

I ordered a DeSantis "super fly" pocket holster from Amazon, it just arrived so no real experience with it other than to say it is as advertised very grippy on the outside and slick on the inside. DeSantis describes it as their succesor design to the "nemesis" holster.
