I have just received my LTC and i am looking to get into IDPA and would like to join W.P.R.C. becuse it looks like a great facility and it is close to my town. Does anyone know how i might be able to meet a sponsor to help me get into the club and maybe show me the ropes since im am new to everyrhing and how it all works. Any help would be appreciated ....

I'm a 27 year old Army vet, i work as a maintenance tech for one of the second largest mutual bank in New England.I would like to get into IDPA,uspsa, any type of pistol comps.
I currently hold a mass LTC class A

Thank you for your time

Attend one of their IDPA matches. Tell the folks in your squad that you'd like to join the club -- at least one of the folks in the squad will be a member, and if you act reasonable during the match they will likely sponsor you. Their next match is Saturday August 13th.

My rant about your first IDPA match might or might not help you: http://www.northeastshooters.com/vbulletin/threads/133914-Your-first-IDPA-match

They also have monthly IDPA practices, which might be worth attending prior to match if that fits into your schedule.

GUNCRAZYACE, I'll sponsor you at the club if you're interested but you really don't need a sponsor to get in. Contact the membership chairman (his email should be on the site) and let him know you want to attend the orientation in August. Show up for that and the membership meeting the next week (with your checkbook) and you're in.

As M1911 said, it's best to just show up for IDPA and introduce yourself. It's an incredibly friendly group. There's a practice on Sunday (I think it's at 5) which is a great place to start. You don't need to be a member to come to that.

Thank you...ill be planning to attend a practice or match soon and thanks for the help. Ill try that and let you know how it goes ....thanks again
